Ken Grossinger is chairman of the CrossCurrents Foundation, a nonprofit foundation supporting social and economic justice. Grossinger worked for more than twenty years in the labor movement prior to entering the world of philanthropy. He represented the Service Employees International Union for ten years, running organizing, legislative, and political campaigns. During the next decade he directed legislative field operations for the AFL-CIO. He is widely regarded as an expert in pioneering national field strategies for labor and nonprofit organizations and he is well known for building long-enduring community/labor alliances. Formerly a community organizer in the early eighties, Grossinger co-launched the Human SERVE Fund, a national advocate organization that initiated and led the successful decade-long fight for passage of the National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as Motor Voter.
